Jonathan (“johnny”) Small
Johnny graduated from Herscher High School 2015-2016 and is from Kankakee. Johnny has experimented with a variety of mediums from wood to metal, oil paint to charcoal. He finds inspiration in modern and contemporary artists such as Alexander Calder, Roman Singer, and Bruce Nauman. Recently, his paintings have also been inspired by the rural landscapes of Kankakee as well as the Lake Michigan shoreline. His work is bold and original; his sketches often feature uncompromising figures of personality, such as the red-faced clown icon, and Dracula. In Johnny’s leisure time, he enjoys playing piano, drawing, gardening, running, and working out in the fitness center.
