The Merchant Street Art Gallery and Heritage Village will be featured at the Gretchen Charlton Art Gallery for the first ever summer art project’s Opening Reception. This collaboration began in June and throughout the past two months the Artists have worked on a variety of projects with the residents of Heritage Village. The Artists traveled to Heritage Village every Friday morning to share their art techniques in different mediums like clay, watercolor and origami.

The benefits were to allow our Artists to experience creating lesson plans, implementing the use of art materials for the projects, and gaining socialization skills outside their normal daily routines. The residents of Heritage Village enjoyed the activities and created many pieces which will be on display at the Gretchen Charlton Art Gallery located at 901 N Entrance Ave, Kankakee, Illinois 60901. (See map below).

The Activity was open to residents of all experience levels.
